My design for the Biomolecular Engineering & Bioinformatics Department T-shirt Design contest was featured on the t-shirt and the 2026 BMEB Departmental Retreat program.

Grass species icons

I created species icons for five grasses representing host plants of the rice blast disease, for my 2023 paper on transposable element dynamics in Magnaporthe oryzae. From left to right: rice (Oryza), wheat (Triticum), foxtail (Setaria), goosegrass (Eleusine), and ryegrass (Lolium).

Hawai‘i Academy of Science STEM Poster Contest 2017

My design for the Hawai‘i State Science & Engineering Fair 2017 STEM Poster Contest placed 1st in the senior division and was featured on the 2018 program. The contest theme was “Plant Sciences,” so my entry depicts Hawai‘i’s native ‘ōhi‘a tree.
